One of the benefits of summer is the ability to exercise outside. Increased physical activity in the heat can be cause for concern though if you don’t prepare yourself before each workout.
- Be sure to drink plenty of water before, during and after you exercise to ensure you stay hydrated throughout your whole workout
- Exercise early in the morning or into the evening so you avoid exercising outside during the sun’s peak mid-day hours
- Wear lightweight and light coloured clothing to stay cooler in the sun
